FPL Group appoints Ron Green President of Engineering and Construction
Division; Jim Robo named President of FPL Energy
JUNO BEACH, Fla. - FPL Group, Inc. (NYSE:
FPL) today announced that Ron F. Green has been appointed President
of the Engineering and Construction Division, overseeing corporate-wide
power plant engineering and construction activities. Green previously
served as president of the company's wholesale power generation
subsidiary, FPL Energy. Succeeding Green as president of FPL Energy
is James L. Robo, who had been serving as vice president of corporate
development and strategy for FPL Group.
Both Mr. Robo and Mr. Green will report to Lew
Hay, chairman and chief executive officer of FPL Group.
Through 2005, FPL Group expects to construct
power plants in Florida and several states throughout the country,
totaling nearly 10,000 megawatts of capacity. "Successful execution
of these projects is critical to ensuring adequate and reliable
power to our growing customer base at Florida Power & Light
and to the continued profitable growth at FPL Energy," said
Lew Hay, chairman and chief executive officer of FPL Group. "We
are pleased that Ron, who has extensive experience in managing the
engineering and construction of power plants, will be leading this
important activity corporate-wide."
Prior to joining FPL Group in December, Green
was president and CEO of Duke Engineering and Services, Inc. and
president and CEO of Duke Solutions, Inc., both subsidiaries of
Duke Energy. He was the founding president of Duke/Flour Daniel,
a nationally known construction company.
Green holds a bachelors of science degree in
engineering physics and a masters of engineering administration
degree from the University of Tennessee.

profitably growing businesses, through internal growth as well as
acquisitions and during periods of difficult market conditions,"
said Hay. "I am confident that Jim and the FPL Energy management

management."
Before joining FPL Group in March, Robo was
at General Electric for ten years, most recently as president and
chief executive officer of a major division of GE Capital. He also
served as chairman and CEO of GE Mexico and was a member of the
GE corporate development team. Prior to joining GE, Mr. Robo was
vice president of Strategic Planning Associates, a management consulting
firm.
Robo received a BA Summa Cum Laude from Harvard
College and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a
Baker Scholar.
