Construction

Wind farms, in addition to their environmental benefits, can be quickly built in comparison to traditional power plants – generally in a few months.

For example, in the case of the FPL Energy Stateline Energy Center, the nation’s largest wind generation operation, construction was completed in nine months.

During construction, we are respectful of our neighbors. For example, we do not work near homes during night hours to avoid unnecessary disturbance for the residents. In addition, we make sure that our operations minimize interference with key activities such as planting or harvesting.

When constructed is completed, areas near the service roads and turbines usually are graded and replanted with either grass or crop seed.
